Zero Zabor

In Gipuzkoa, it has been stressed the necessity of approaching the waste problem from the point of view of awareness raising, prevention and training. In this sense, the Council of Gipuzkoa, Aranzadi Society of Sciences, Ikastolen Elkartea and Kristau Eskola (both federations of schools) have signed in October 2012 an agreement aimed to work the Zero Waste approach in Primary and Secondary Education.

During the school year 2013-2014 we went in 68 classrooms of 24 schools and 1549 students took part.

During the school year 2014-2015 we went in 77 classrooms of 24 schools and 1615 students took part.

The workshops address the following competence proposed by the Basque Curriculum "To get involved in projects which improve the society and defend the nature, as results of a reflection based on individual and/or collective interest, as well as critical thinking".
